Knock Marian Shrine, in County Mayo(located on the West Coast) is Ireland’s Marian Shrine. During the late 19th century, when our lady appeared, this has been the main Catholic Shrine in Ireland. Knock has built up somewhat of an industry over the years and it seems they have enough accommodation, eateries and ample room for anyone to visit. It is also quite good value for money. On top of this, one also has the religious aspect where many have claimed their lives were changed in Knock, especially the first group of people, who had no doubts they saw visions of Hail Mary. Pope John Paul the 2nd had a special mass there and we as young Irish Folk grew up listening anf learning about Knock shrine.
