Here is the extremely complicated version of the route and directions when going from Dublin to Tralee. First off, you get on the N7, or ask anyone to direct you to the Naas Dual Carriageway. Then you pretty much follow everyone else(except tractors and drunk people). It’s a case of following the N7 as far as Limerick where you’ll pass a multitude of smaller towns.
Dublin to Tralee
Location Road Distance Time
Dublin N7 0 0:00
(Naas ByPass) M7 21 0:36
Kildare N7 31 0:48
Monasterevin N7 38 0:59
New Inn N7 44 1:09
(Portlaois ByPass) N7 -> M7 52 1:15
Borris in Ossory N7 74 1:46
Roscrea N7 81 1:58
Nenagh N7 100 2:28
Birdhill N7 112 2:48
Annacotty N7 120 3:01
Then, once in Limerick(do not go into the City or you will et seriously lost, only Cork is more complicated), you will take the ring road (N20) out as far as the N21, or follow the signs for Killarney, Tralee or Adare. If you get lost, stop off at a petrol station - simple as that. If the roads look like they are more suited to Ranches in Texas, then you are probably on the right path.
Adare N21 134 3:29
Rathkeale N21 142 3:41
Newcastle West N21 149 3:53
Abbeyfeale N21 161 4:13
Castleisland N21 176 4:36
At Castleisland, simply follow the signs for Kerry Airport if you want to go to Killarney, pretty much go straight through the town. Keep following the N21 for Tralee.
