The Mayo Gay scene is basically a non-go zone. There is not any openly gay bars until one hits Galway City, which is possibly the best place to go. In Swinford there is a gay friendly bar called DeRoiste Bar (Gay-friendly) Main St, Swinford, Co Mayo. It is a Lesbian-owned bar now holding gay nights every Thursday night. 7pm til close. In Sligo one can always go to Matchmaker.com – where they have a specific section on Sligo. Check out Gay Dating Ireland.

There is an amazing site called Flirtbox that offers dating and contacts all over Ireland. They are really good because they break it down into specific areas – so the people you are corresponding with could be just down the road from you.

Other than that there are a range of Dances held each week all over the city. The Echo has some excellent pages that need to be read on a weekly basis. The Gumtree website is also an excellent place to meet people – as is Craigslist, if one is located in Dublin.
