Ireland Vacations - Cork Travel
Cork is a MUST SEE County in Ireland. Not so much the city, but West Cork and along the Atlantic Coastline. It has scenic drives, fresh air and a landscape that is second-to-none. Bantry, Kinsale and Skibbereen are some of the most characteristically Irish towns in Ireland. The coastline along West Cork, as you are driving to Kerry, is filled with postcard perfect scenery. All activities to suit all tastes can be found in Cork.
P.S
There is a tiny village called Union Hall that I visit at least 5 times a year for Sea Fishing. Hire a boat and have the time of your life.

Secret Ireland - Kerry Travel
We all know about the Ring of Kerry, which is the most scenic drive in Ireland (by a long way). What I would not advise, is going around it by a tour bus that has more interest in getting home than actually driving round it. If you don’t have a car and you have no choice then perhaps this is an option, but, stop-offs are what makes The Ring of Kerry a special place. The towns of Kenmare, Killarney(National Park) and Dingle(well off the Ring of Kerry) are must-see towns in Ireland. Villages like Kells, Skellig Island and Ventry are also the creme-de-la-creme of all that is Irish.

Ireland Vacations - Limerick Travel
The drive from Tarbet to Limerick(not well known) is one that is highly recommended, even if the weather is bad. In Limerick City, John’s Castle and The Organic Market are intriguing places to visit for a day. Limerick is also a great shopping and nightlife hub, with drinking and partying being the order of the day on a Friday and Saturday night.

Waterford and Dungarvan, as well as Tramore have some amazing beaches. Tramore is a good place to bring the kids during the summer, and Waterford and the Quays have an air of old Ireland about them that you will seldom find anywhere else.

Ireland Vacations - Tipperary Travel
There is the river Suir and Lough Derg, for those who are looking to go Fishing or boating. The Galtee Mountains and the Rock of Cashel are must-see places when visiting Ireland. There is a list of towns like Nenagh, Clonmel, Tipperary, Cahir, Carrick-on-Suir, Cashel, Roscrea, Templemore and Thurles, all with their own unique charm. There are Village pubs here that bring you back to the 1900’s and of course, there is The Guinness.

Ireland Vacations - Galway Travel
Galway is a city I have spent many a day and night in. The Quays Bar and Roisin Dubh have one of the best pints of Guinness in Ireland, and there is a list of decent (but expensive) eateries in Galway. The docks in Galway, where fishermen with massive grey beards can still be photographed, is a special place amongst the city landscape. There is also Connemmara, Clifden and hundred’s of places to see in Galway County. It is the city where Irish people go to have a good time - need I say anymore?

Ireland Vacations - Sligo Travel
Sligo, the burial place of W.B.Yeats, is a county that can sometimes be highly under-rated. Whether it be sitting for a sandwich under Ben Bulben, or surfing on some of the cleanest beaches in Ireland, Sligo County has it all.

Ireland Vacations - Mayo Travel
What first springs to mind is the Castlebar Blues Festival. Then there is the drive from Westport to Connemmara. There is also numerous fishing places, Achill Island and a range of Historic and Ancient sites that date back thousands of years. Then, there is Knock Shrine and Airport. Mayo is the only town in Ireland where your asked to walk up a Mountain barefoot and speak to moving statues.

Ireland Vacations - Donegal Travel
With it’s breathtaking coastline and vast parklands and countryside, it is not surprising that Donegal has produced world-acclaimed musicians such as Enya and Rory Gallagher. It is a landscape that inspires. The playwright Brian Friel is also a resident of this huge county. The Coastline all along Donegal is wide and wild, with views to match. There are places in Donegal where you get a feeling that nobody has ever been. A range of Castles and Ancient sights and some great places to stay and eat, both in Donegal town and Letterkenny.

Ireland Vacations -Leitrim Travel
I have only three words for you when it comes to Leitrim, Fishing, Fishing, Fishing. There is also River and Canal Boat tours and some amazing grub and accommodation in Carrick-on Shannon. But, ultimately its all about the Fishing.

Ireland Vacations - Longford Travel
They call it ‘The Heart of The Midlands’ of Ireland, and to be sure to be sure, it is well worth a visit, especially in regards to lakes and fishing. It also has some pretty cheap accommodation and a list of ancient monastic ruins and sites including the Dolmen in Aughnacliff, the ruins of the Abbey in Abbeylara and the historic ruins of St Mel’s first Cathedral in Ardagh.
